Program of student contest "Expedition Mars" is for young talented children between 10-17 years, who are interested in science discipline related with space research, such as astrobiology, planetary geology, astronomy, medicine, etc. Project takes place in cooperation of two European countries - Czech Republic and Slovak Republic with the potential to spread to other states. Structure of competition is divided into three consecutive parts including knowledge test with the basic physical, chemical and astronomical assumptions and including general historical overview, professional work on a given topic from proficiency category and oral presentation of their project. The top ten students, two from each category, are then able to take a simulated flight to Mars in Euro Space Center in Transinne, Belgium. In the ESC attend hours of theoretical training and subsequent physical training, during which they acquire work in extreme environments and work in complicated physical and mental conditions. After completion Mars Expedition remains the most participants continue to be active. Most of them are devoted to specialized topics during internships at universities and private institutions, develop their knowledge and skills and take part in various seminars and competitions with a focus on science. Since 2013 the longest student controlled flight simulation took place in contest schedule. Last simulated mission was 102 hours long and was oriented to test crew in several different scientific areas such as biology, robotics, astronavigation and computing.
