It’s a great sushi place run by Czech people. They also have soups, noodles and meat, but I mainly go there for sushi - and in the centre it’s one of my favorite choices. They have a very good selection of sushi and sushi sets. The staff is friendly and nice. Prices are rather above average, but the same like in similar restaurants in Prague. Umami is located on the first floor in Myslbek shopping mall and quite small. It is often busy, although reservation is not necessary. The interior is modern and simple. They accept payments by card, and you can order food to take away (they have a special lunch offer for bento boxes - which are anyway pricey, but really tasty). There is no separate toilet in the restaurant, you need to go to the one in the mall which is on the same floor, in maybe 10 meters walk.
Honestly it was a great experience. First time in Prague and my wife and I went to this place to eat dinner and it was good. The server was doing a good job, really professional and the sushi were delicious.
The restaurant is in the shopping mall. It is relatively quiet and the please looks nice. The sushi was good. The prices are higher, but for sushi reasonable as you don't want probably would like to eat cheap sushi but good one. They offer vouchers on Slevomat so you can get some discount. The selection is fine and mainly sushi .
Don't bother unless you want to spend an hour of your life waiting for average sushi. We arrived at time when everyone was already paying/getting food/ordering coffee and we ordered lunch. After about twenty minutes we were pretty much alone at the place. There was no chef at the sushi bar for about 30 minutes. After over 45 minutes wait I went to ask the server what is the hang up. She was rude and brushed me off saying that we were the last to arrive, which was itself ridiculous. We paid full price after almost an hour of waiting and were offered not a word of apology. And the sushi was not even very good, average at best. I am now at least trying to do people service in telling them to avoid the place when they look like heading there. TL;DR average food, rude staff, long wait, don't bother
Waiter was very polite. Greeted with warm tower for wiping our hands. Complementary salad provided. Waiter was observant that the dish were meant to be shared, he automatically offered extra sets of utensils. The sushi was awesome, different from the traditional sushi. Tempura soba was nice. Only the lemonade ginger was too unique to our liking, but a interesting drink to try. Overall, worth the visit for the service and food. :)
Visited the sushi Umami today. It is a great place to eat difficult sushi! It was a great experience to taste all of them! I recommend this place!
