This sculpture is supposed to be of Moses. It’s not at all obvious to me who the sculpture is supposed to depict, but it’s a bronze sculpture depicting a seated man, hunched down. The man is near naked except for a large cloth covering his body below the torso. The sculpture is quite well executed, showing a tired individual on the cusp of despair. The hands lie lifeless resting on the thighs just to emphasise the despair. There’s a lot of details in the head and body of the sculptures. The sculpture is located in the old Jewish Quarter of Prague and can be a bit difficult to locate as it’s in a small garden hidden by trees. It can be found just in front of Staronová Synagogue.

This statue represents Bílek's original vision of the Old Testament prophet: a kneeling man in a larger-than-life size, writing the name of Adam on a scroll. It symbolises humankind for whom he was responsible and for whom he sought the Promised Land.
At a stone’s throw distance from the Old-New Synagogue along the Pařížská Street stands a bronze statue of Moses sculpted by the famous Czech Art Nouveau and Symbolist sculptor and architect František Bílek, an alumnus of Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, whose works often reflected Biblical themes or had religious connotations. This statue represents Bílek's original vision of the Old Testament prophet: a kneeling man in a larger-than-life size, writing the name of Adam on a scroll. It symbolises humankind for whom he was responsible and for whom he sought the Promised Land. František Bílek made the sculpture in 1905; however, it was placed on its current spot in 1937. Under the Nazi occupation, the statue was removed and subsequently melted. After World War II, in 1946, it was again re-casted using the original plaster model and consequently was returned to its original place.
