Beware of the changing currency officce inside the station. The man there tried to rip me off and i almost had to call the police. As its said on the currencies board, 1 equals 25 czk with 0% commision. I gave him 50 and he tried to give me 840czk inicially!! i wanst agree with that and he starts to bargain. Terrible. As i was getting upset with his actitude, he raised the exchange amount to reach, finally and after few minutes, the right one as it was printed on board. Please be carefull in this spot.

READ THIS IF IT'S YOUR FIRST TIME IN PRAGUE!!! The most crucial thing to know is how their TICKETS work: YOU HAVE TO VALIDATE YOUR TICKET BEFORE RIDING!!! This is done with their stamping machines usually inside the rides. I saw too many tourists get fined 800crowns for not validating their tickets. There are 3 Tickets for tourists: One way, 24h, 72h. You can buy them at kiosks and other stores basically everywhere. The SMS approach to buy them, seems to be extremely buggy if you have a foreign provider. Also most info inside public transport is only provided in Czech! So having mobile navigation such as Google Maps will save your hours!

The metro station has 2 exit , one to Republic Square (also connected to Palladium Shopping centre ) which is now closed for renovation. The other exit is to Hilton Prague old town and Praha Masarykovo Nadrazi train station. Nearby there is the Museum of Communism and the Powder Tower. Hotels nearby include Ibis and MGallery by Sofitel
