The Regional Development Agency (RDA) was established in 1993 as a European Union pilot project to help in the restructuring of the North Moravia and Silesia region. Since its foundation, the RDA has undergone several structural changes. Currently the 100% owner of the RDA is the Moravian-Silesian Region. The key goals and priorities of the RDA are: •improvement of competitiveness, •development of infrastructure, •human resources development, •increasing the Region’s absorption capacity. ARR tries to fulfil these goals by concrete steps: •To extend the Region’s economic base and attract new investments •To increase the number, range and quality of jobs in the Region •To support the establishment, growth and stabilization of new and existing companies •To focus the Region’s efforts on supporting competitive sectors •To adopt suitable methods of economic development in both urban and rural centres •To improve the image and perception of the Region in the Czech Republic and abroad
