A really scenic view on the Šumava mountain range. We were lucky to get bse be the sunset and rising stars as we stayed over night in the emergency camping marked area. The location has an intriguing history dating back to the cold war. It's fascinating to realize how tensed the situation was several decades back.

An interesting and nice lookout tower - a remnant of the socialist regime, when there was the Iron Curtain, it was bannned to entry this area and a company of border guards stayed here who watched capitalist Germany from the lookout tower, listened to foreign radios while trying to disturb thei breadcast so it cannot be listen to by people in Czechoslovakia . There is a beautiful view of the Bohemian Forest and the German part of the Bohemian Forest. Under really favorable conditions, Alpes can be rarely seen from here. There are thematic exhibitions in the lookout tower, one of which is dedicated to border guards and the Iron Curtain. Well, the border guards here probably had a hell of a heavy service, far from civilization, the beer was so far away. Especially in winter, it must have been very cruel here and it must drive them crazy here. Definitely worth seeing and visiting, I recommend to go.
