I went to Spices by myself around 2pm a few weeks ago and I was surprised to find it empty. The staff were super attentive and friendly and made me feel comfortable. I ordered a few things, and they were all really delicious. I ordered the cod, duck egg rolls and shrimp tempura. My boyfriend called in a surprised me with a drink and card, and the staff did everything to make it feel special. So thank you so much!! I had such a great time.

We visited during Grand Restaurant Festival, the food looked perfect but the tastes did not amuse us. The soup was very good, the pork belly was average, but the dessert was just too many flavors and textures that did not fit. The service was very polite and attentive - sometimes a bit too tight and unnatural, but I suppose it is what the guests expect from such a posh place. The interior design is simple, but tasteful - a true luxury that does not draw attention too much. And the serving of the food fits perfectly in it, it is a complete aesthetic experience. One tip for the owner: when we got water in a branded bottle, it completely ruined our visual experience - a water carafe woul be much better.

Excellent restaurant, excellent host, very nice people! We have been positively surprised still even if we have already expected high standards. So one comment - keep going like this - highly recommend and good. But if you are looking for big portions of lower grade food - don’t come. Come if you want to have delicious and tasteful dishes ....

Good place. Been here twice. Second time for during Grand Restaurant testing menu. To be honest the fist time i loved the food, but for the festival it didn’t worth the money at all. I was a bit disappointed about the food. Otherwise interior and staff are good.

The patio here is so peaceful and pretty. We had a few drinks before dinner. Some very creative and tasty drinks. Then onto dinner. The service was great. Everyone was friendly , helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered mainly from the Asian menu (there are some European items and then more traditional Asian items). The noodles in the pad Thai had great flavor. And the tofu was savory and almost crispy. The hoisin sauce with the duck spring rolls was so good. The green ice soup was interesting. Very fresh and very cucumber forward. I wished for a bit more of the other flavors mentioned but it was a good soup. The dhall curry had great flavor but was a bit messy to eat in the deconstructed serving. Still very tasty! The ice creams were unique and delicious. I was not familiar with tonal bean but it was a new and interesting flavor for ice cream. Usually chocolate ice cream doesn’t blow me away, but this one was amazing. So rich and creamy. Yum! Husband loved the pistachio and it too was very flavorful. Overall great meal.

For many years restaurant Spices were our favourite place to go. It always had a great food and high standard service. All this was a reason, why we choose it under Grant Restaurant Festival this year. I am sorry to say that I was disappointed tremendously. All the waiters present that evening were very unexperienced and two we came across were lacking professionalism we were used to for all those years. The person tending our table did not speak Czech very well, which lead to a number of misunderstandings. One of them being that when asked if they serve any other wine outside wines chosen to a accompany the Grand restaurant menu (as we did not like those), he claimed that they do not have any other wines he can offer. When pouring the wine, he did not let my partner to taste it prior. Also the food was coming to our table very fast so within 30 minutes we would finish our 3 course menu and were ready to go home. This feeling that they aim is to get rid of us as soon as possible was overpowering and it completely ruined my evening I was so looking forward to. When we asked our waiter, if we can have small break between the main and dessert, the waiter demanded exact time to minute (not exaggerating) when the desert shall be served. In regards to food, meals were smaller than we were used to previous years and starter and also main dish were blunt in taste. When leaving, the server did not remember, where he put our coats so we had to go with him to identify them. Sadly the best part of the whole evening was their signature lemonade, which I ordered outside of the Festival menu.

I visited this restaurant when in Prague few months ago. The place was quiet, service was very attentive and multi-lingual. Menu was interesting and nicely presented. The restaurant was nicely decorated but it was missing atmosphere somehow. Maybe due to being so quiet? What put me off was some of the main dishes were ridiculously small. I completely understand the idea of fine dining and I've done it multiple times but some of the main dishes were really small while the others were really big portions. A good tip would be to get an even balance between that. Also the wine price list was rocket high compared to the food and wines weren't that great when paying for a bottle of Italian wine approximately 40-50 I was expecting much more. I'm really sorry, but I wouldn't go back.
