Karel Hynek Macha is early 19th century Czech poet and writer, though he passed away in the age of 24, he left a deep legacy in the Czech literature. His tragic lyric poem Máj (May) is not only a firm part of every schools curriculum for representing Czech romanticist poetry and admirable form of language. His poem lives on in the knowledge of general public. Most Czechs would know to cite or at least identify the first verses of the poem of \Máj\.
Is a very romantic place. The hill in general where the monument is. This poet wrote the most epic love poem written in check lenguaje, called \maj\ So, in Praga the livers day is celebrated the first of may where the lovers visit this hill and this monument.
